The product is very versatile due to various characteristics: non-toxic, chemical resistence, low hygroscopic absorption, low friction coefficient, good wear and tear resistence, large interval working temperature. It therefore can be used for the processing of pieces destined to mechanical use and anti wear and tear guides. It is produced with various molecular weights which determine slight and in some cases substantial performance variations. It is easily workable and weldable. No glues can be used.The semi processed pieces are principally sheets and round bars. The colours normally used for this material are natural (white), green and black. PE300 = The most economical one and is used for the processing of articles which do not request high mechanical performance. PE500 = This material is a compromise between inexpensiveness and mechanical resistence performances. PE1000 = This type has good mechanical performances and a low friction coefficient. PE1000 (UHMW) = This type of high density polyethylene used for industrial purposes is the one which has all technical characteristics like pureness, abrasion resistence, low friction coefficient and low temperature resistence.
